Welcome to the Gibson Studio in Stroud, Gloucestershire, which is a family of artists each with a different approach in ideas and style.
Mary Gibson (M.Gibson) – after graduating with a BA in Graphic Design from Kingston upon Thames, Mary spent several years
working on illustration commissions before taking a break to have a family.
Following a move to a smallholding in Wales, she returned to illustration, experimenting with various print mediums.
Some time later the family moved to Frome in Somerset where they ran a successful lifestyle shop.
Having now sold the business and moving to Stroud, she is now concentrating on painting again, drawing inspiration from the Cotswold countryside.
Tony Gibson (A.J.Gibson) – graduated with a degree in Graphic Design from Watford School of Art.
Tony joined several small London studios before working in product visualising for a large company. Branching out
into freelance book illustration and graphic design, as the family moved from the home counties to a Welsh smallholding.
Teaching followed, in design, for the University of South Wales. The family then relocated to Somerset,
and here with Mary, the development of a lifestyle shop blossomed. The shop is now under new ownership and we have settled in Stroud,
where it’s paintings of people and nature, combining new styles with events.
